OLYMPIA — The Washington Salmon Recovery Funding Board announced more than $42 million in grants around the state. That includes $824,625 in Chelan County and $1,124,375 in Okanogan County.
Funding comes from the federal Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund and the sale of state bonds.
Grant recipients will use the money to remove barriers that prevent salmon from migrating, and provide more places for salmon to spawn, feed, rest or hide from predators. Those funded include:
