CASHMERE — A 58-year-old Cashmere man suffered a shoulder injury and cuts Saturday evening when the van he was working on started up in reverse, struck him and came to rest in the Wenatchee River.

Craig Bourgault was injured when he tried to reach inside the driver’s door to pull the van out of reverse but was hit by the door and knocked to the ground, said John Wisemore, Chelan County undersheriff. The van did not roll over him but continued into the river where it came to rest in about two feet of water.
