Melissa Lynn Van Lith
East Wenatchee, WA
Melissa Lynn Van Lith, 30, of East Wenatchee, WA, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2013, after a long, courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born in Grand Prairie, B.C. on June 27, 1983. Three and a half months later, in October of 1983, she was adopted by Fred and Terri Van Lith of East Wenatchee. Melissa attended Eastmont School District, graduating from Eastmont High School in 2001. After high school, she spent many years working as a CNA at various retirement facilities in Washington State. Although Melissa spent some time living over in the Seattle area, East Wenatchee has always been “home”. Melissa always loved spending time with her family and friends any chance she had. All of her nieces and nephews loved their time with Aunt Missy, and she loved it as well. She also enjoyed camping, watching movies, and reading book after book.
Melissa is survived by her parents, Fred and Terri Van Lith; three brothers, Scott (Sheila) of Gold Bar, WA, Jeff (Linda) of Bellevue, WA and Jeremy of Spokane, WA; half-sister and half-brother; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins; and her cat “Queso”. Melissa was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as two cousins, and her best friend, “CoCoa”.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the University of Washington Medical Center, SCCA and Central Washington Hospital. They would also like to give a very special thanks to Lisa Engman and Dr. Mandy Robertson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eastmont Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. A reception at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
