ABERDEEN, S.D. — The Wenatchee Wild kicked off their two-week road stint with a 4-2 win over the Aberdeen Wings on Friday thanks to a strong showing in the first period.

Wenatchee went ahead 1-0 with a goal from Gadel Gumerov off an assist from Nicholas Rivera. Tanner Barnes scored unassisted 15 minutes into the first period to put the team ahead 2-0, and Rivera scored once more to give the Wild a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
