LAKEWOOD — The Wenatchee Valley College women’s basketball team fell to Lane 62-59 in overtime Saturday at the Raiders Invitational Tournament. It will compete in the third-place consolation game today at 1 p.m. against Columbia Basin.
“We played great,” Rachel Bromiley-Goetz said. “(Lauren) Schulz hit a great shot to put us into overtime. ... (We) didn’t come up with enough points at the end. We were five of nine from the free throw line whereas they were 19 of 26 from the line. They had way more fouls called in their favor, which was unfortunate. It was a great battle, and we lost in overtime, which is a bummer.”
