October jobless rate falls slightly in Okanogan County

OKANOGAN — An 87.5 percent jump in trucking and warehousing jobs helped trim Okanogan County’s October unemployment rate to 6.4 percent, the 28th consecutive month of year-over-year decreases or no change.

The state Employment Security Department released the county’s job numbers Monday in a recap of labor summaries for the region. Released earlier, Chelan and Douglas counties posted an October unemployment rate of 5.4 percent, Grant County of 6.4 percent and the state an overall rate of 6.4 percent.
