WENATCHEE — Three Alcoa Wenatchee Works employees are accused of stealing roughly $30,000 worth of copper supplies from the plant over four months for sale as scrap metal.

Two of the men face criminal charges after a third admitted to a series of thefts to Alcoa internal security and to Chelan County sheriff’s investigators, according to court records. The men allegedly carried off three successful thefts of copper tabs, shunts and rods used in the smelting of aluminum starting in late summer. An attempt to steal another load in October was interrupted, deputies said.
