The lead out
I would like to offer a different idea on crime.
In a recent editorial Tracy Warner pointed out that violent crime rates have dropped considerably since the 1990s.
One reason could be the removal of lead from gasoline.
Crime rates went up about 20 years after we began using lead in gasoline. Crime rates began going down about 20 years after we quit using lead in gas. Even before there was a Three Strikes law in Washington…
