Prep basketball: Freshmen lead Okanogan girls past Cascade

LEAVENWORTH — Bryan Boesel has had his Okanogan girls basketball team contending for — and winning — state championships during his first two years as the Bulldogs’ head coach. Both of those previous Bulldogs squads were filled with upperclassmen who played at a high level, but in both of those years, Boesel was able to work multiple freshmen into his rotations — Cameron Moses two years ago and Keanna Egbert, Patricia Romero and Janice Romero last season.

Boesel has been able to rely on rookie players again this season, but it appears as though his youngest charges will be leading the team instead of playing supporting roles.
