YAKIMA — Stage 1 burn bans will continue in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Kittitas and other Eastern Washington counties and Indian reservations at least until 4 p.m. Dec. 30, as stagnant air is expected to linger, the state Department of Ecology announced Thursday in a news release.

Bans on Indian reservations including the Yakama, Colville and Spokane reservations, have also been extended through Dec. 30, according to a news release by the federal Environmental Protection Agency.
