Darla Renae Harrington

August 16, 1963 ~ December 21, 2013

Darla Renae Harrington, 50, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many, died suddenly on Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Harborview Medical Center. Darla was born to Rob and Beth Harrington on August 16, 1963, in Wenatchee, WA. She grew up in Entiat and graduated from Entiat High School in 1981. She married Kevin Williams and they had a daughter, Melissa. A later marriage to Randall Elmes gave her a second daughter, Brandy. Darla had been a small business owner and worked in many fields, including retail, construction, and her position at Buddy’s Place in Manson at the time of her death. She was providing a home and caring for her two small granddaughters at her home in Manson.

Surviving Darla are her daughters, Melissa Williams and her partner, Josh Wilson, both of East Wenatchee, and Brandy Elmes of Manson; granddaughters, Faith, Skye, Khloe and Juliana; her parents; sisters, Denise Harrington and her partner, Peder of Kingston, WA, and Amy Smith (John) of Wenatchee; niece, Amber; nephews, Chase and Drew; longtime close friend, Peter Ford; and countless friends, whose lives she has touched.

Darla’s granddaughters were the light of her life. She had many sleep-overs, lake outings and camp-outs with them.

There will be a Celebration of Darla’s Life at the Entiat Grange Hall on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. Donations to help provide care for Darla’s granddaughters, Khloe (three years) and Juliana (two years) may be made to the Darla Harrington Memorial fund at any branch of the Numerica Credit Union.
