Housing market continues recovery

WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee housing market continued its year-long recovery in November with 18 percent more homes sold year-to-date than in 2012.

Home sale totals compiled by Pacific Appraisal Associates, a regional consulting and appraisal firm, were released Dec. 19 for the Wenatchee market, which is comprised of Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Malaga, Orondo and Rock Island.

Market totals showed 761 homes sold year-to-date through November, up from 644 in 2012. Dollar volumes rose 22 percent to just under $185 million. The average home price rose 4 percent to $243,044.

The number of homes listed through the year rose by 11 percent to 1,156, with dollar volume of listed homes rising 6 percent to $317.7 million.

More than 70 percent of all homes sold year-to-date were listed at under $300,000, according to Pacific Appraisal.
