WENATCHEE — This month, buying a cup of coffee helped local kids.

Eleven locations of Dutch Bros. Coffee in central Washington — including those in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee — raised nearly $8,000 during the company’s annual Buck for Kids Day on Dec. 6.

The coffee stands donated $1 for every drink sold to local children’s causes chosen by each store. In Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, Dutch Bros. locations owned by Jimmy and Danielle Crocker donated to the Children’s Home Society of Wenatchee.

This year, the company’s annual holiday event raised $176,922 from the 213 Dutch Bros. locations across seven states. That’s $37,922 more than last year.

In central Washington, Dutch Bros. locations in Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Yakima, Sunnyside, Kennewick, Pasco and Walla Walla participated in the fundraising event.
