WENATCHEE — A series of day-long workshops on growing apples, pears and stone fruit will be held in North Central Washington in coming weeks.

Sponsored by Washington State University county extension offices, the workshops — or “horticultural days” — will feature sessions on growing techniques, pesticide application and management of weeds, diseases and pests.

Each of the listed workshops will also feature a small trade show. Chelan County workshops are free; the Okanogan event charges a small entry fee.

Workshops include:

Lake Chelan Horticultural Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Chelan High School Performing Arts Center. Apple, pear and cherry horticulture and pest management.

North Central Washington Stone Fruit Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

North Central Washington Pear Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. North Central Washington Apple Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

Okanogan Horticultural Day, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Okanogan County Agriplex. Apple, pear and cherry horticulture, and pest, weed and disease management.
