SWAT team called out for domestic dispute
Saturday, February 9, 2013
PESHASTIN — Gunshots at a residence off Blewett Pass brought out the Chelan County SWAT team early Saturday morning.
Residents in the area reported hearing gunshots about 1:25 a.m. and called 911, according to a press release from Mike Harris, chief of patrol for the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies at the scene saw a rifle muzzle come out of a window and heard shots that were being fired at an upward angle. Because they could not reach the residence by phone, the SWAT team was called in.
While the team was en route, a deputy was able to reach someone inside the house and talk the suspect out of the house about 6 a.m., according to the press release. Deputies determined that the gunshots were being fired during a verbal argument between a man and his girlfriend.
Thomas Rich, 21, whose address was not available, was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of reckless endangerment.
The incident happened on Cottonwood Lane, which is across the highway from Ingall’s Creek Lodge.
