Downtown Chelan is serving up something yummy at its next First Friday event.

The “Taste of Chelan,” a restaurant walk featuring menu samples from eight downtown eateries, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. March 1.

The walk is sponsored by the Historic Downtown Chelan Association in partnership with Chelan High School’s Five Star Club, a leadership group that assists with school and tourism events.

Only 100 tickets — at $25 each — will be sold for the two-hour stroll-and-dine event. Participating restaurants are the Bamboo Shoot, Bear Foods Creperie, BC McDonalds, Campbell’s Bistro, Chelan Teriyaki, Culinary Apple, Make Sushi and The Vogue.

Five Star Club members will greet diners and talk about and serve each dish. All the members will have food-handler cards and training in hospitality skills.

Tickets are available now at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce office, 682-3503. Proceeds will help pay state competition expenses for Five Star Club members.
