Douglas County reinstates home checks for vacationers
Douglas County residents can, once again, ask the Douglas County Sheriff’s Auxiliary to watch their homes while they are on vacation.
Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said falling fuel prices and a slight increase in his fuel budget are allowing him to reinstate the vacation home-watch program. It had been discontinued a year ago.
Information on applying for a home watch is available at douglascountysheriff.org. Donations to the auxiliary budget are not required but are welcomed, Gjesdal said. For more information, call 884-0941.
