AppleSox name new announcer
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Spencer Thurling will serve as the radio broadcaster for each Wenatchee AppleSox game on 560 KPQ AM this season, the team announced Monday.
Thurling, a Pepperdine University graduate, interned for the Double-A Binghamton Mets, a New York Mets affiliate, during the 2012 season. He announced Pepperdine women’s basketball for two seasons, and currently calls high schools sports for the Colorado Sportscast Network.
“I’m excited for the opportunity and I can’t wait for the season to get here,” Thurling said in a press release. “Baseball is the sport I care about the most and I’m looking forward to the taking on the challenge of providing fans with a great broadcast.”
