Lake Wenatchee
Damage from the snow and wind storms that struck the Lake Wenatchee, Plain and Coles Corner areas in December and January have cost the Chelan County PUD nearly $2.8 million so far, commissioners have learned.
The storms sent hundreds of trees falling into power lines, causing widespread outages, snapping power poles and closing roads.
Costs so far total:
More than $1.7 million for labor from the PUD’s own staffers and crews sent from the Douglas, Grant, Okanogan and Benton County PUDs.
Nearly $209,000 in materials.
Nearly $719,300 in contract labor.
More than $81,000 in vehicle costs.
Nearly $58,000 for lodging, meals, fuel, supplies.
Damage totals are in line with PUD estimates from late last year.
