Donations being accepted for fire victims

Originally published January 3, 2013 at 2:19 p.m., updated January 3, 2013 at 3:44 p.m.

PLAIN — Donation drop boxes and a bank account have been set up to help a Lake Wenatchee area family that was burned out of their home Monday night.

The donations are for Richard and Crystal Fritz, who were out of town when their two-story house was destroyed by fire. Donation boxes are located at the Plain hardware store, the Plain grocery store, Chelan County Fire District 3 in Leavenworth, and Marson and Marson Lumber in Leavenworth. An account has been set up at Cashmere Valley Bank in the Fritzes’ name.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Q.Global, a Yakima company that investigates fires on contract with Chelan County, Mick Lamar, chief of Chelan County Fire District 9, said Wednesday.

The fire was reported about 10:30 p.m. at 12292 Shugart Flats Road, between Lake Wenatchee and Plain.
