Teen brothers sentenced for Quincy gang murder
Wednesday, January 9, 2013
EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) — Two teenage brothers were sentenced Tuesday in Ephrata for the gang-related murder of a man who was gunned down in his yard in Quincy.
Eighteen-year-old Benjamin "Smiley" Lopez was sentenced to 15 years and 17-year-old Abraham Lopez Torres was sentenced to 20 years.
The Wenatchee World reports (http://bit.ly/WOvKn0 ) both were convicted last month in the April 2011 shooting of 25-year-old Adan Beltran.
Grant County Prosecutor Angus Lee said the killing was part of a gang feud and that Beltran was killed in retaliation for the October 2010 killing of 19-year-old Edwin Cesar Davalos.
