Edmonds man dies in fall

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

COULEE CITY — A 60-year-old Edmonds man was killed Sunday after falling about 150 feet off a steep hiking trail on his way to a popular ice climbing wall north of Coulee City on Sunday.

Robert A. Prosser died from injuries to his head and chest, and his death was ruled an accident by the Grant County Coroner’s Office.

Emergency responders were called to the climbing area along Highway 155, about nine miles north of Coulee City, where Prosser was on his way to go climbing with a friend, said Kyle Foreman, spokesman for the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Foreman said he doesn’t know the name of the rock walls where Prosser was headed, but people come from all over the state to climb them.
