No one injured in shooting after dispute over a woman

WENATCHEE — A 30-year-old Wenatchee man was arrested in an attic early this morning after a shooting Thursday evening in which no one was injured.
Aaron C. Anthony was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. About 7:30 p.m., he fired a single gunshot at another man while both men were standing outside in the 600 block of King Street, said Wenatchee police Detective Edgar Reinfeld. The two men were arguing over a woman.
Anthony was across the street from the other man, a 33-year-old Wenatchee resident, when he fired the .380-caliber, semi-automatic handgun, Reinfeld said. The shot did not hit the man and the round has not been located.
“We’re thankful that he was shooting away from the apartment complex because there were units everywhere,” Reinfeld said.
After the shooting, the man with the gun ran away. Detectives visited residences of Anthony’s friends and arrested him about eight hours later in the attic of a residence in the 700 block of Lynn Street.
Jennifer Voss of Wenatchee, who told officers that Anthony was not in her home, was arrested on suspicion of rending criminal assistance, a felony, Reinfeld said.
Officers, who were given permission to enter the Voss residence, heard rustling sounds from the attic and ordered Anthony to come down. He did, and was arrested. The gun has not been located.
