Mission Street loses a lane at Sellar Bridge

Saturday, January 26, 2013

One lane at the west end of the Senator George Sellar Bridge will close 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for electrical work.

The right lane of southbound Mission will be closed and traffic will merge into the left lane for about 1.3 miles between Lewis and Chehalis streets, beginning at the Wenatchee Community Center (the former Catholic Church) on Chelan Avenue and continuing south to the La Fuente restaurant.

Selland Construction crews will install electrical wire conduits under the sidewalk for electronic message signs, scheduled to be erected through this zone later in the $9.8 million bridge improvement project. The Washington Department of Transportation advises using South Wenatchee Avenue as an alternate route during high traffic periods.
