If you go
What: Indoor roller skating on a concrete rink in an air-conditioned setting.
Where: The main arena at Town Toyota Center, 1300 Walla Walla Ave.
When: 1 to 3 p.m. daily, plus 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Aug. 2. (The rink is closed July 4.)
Why: Maintenance on the Wenatchee Wild’s hockey rink requires removing the ice. That leaves a perfect concrete floor that begs for roller skating.
Foot notes: Skaters are welcome to bring their own roller skates or rollerblades. But the arena also has 250 pairs of skates for rent.
Cost: $5 per person for each session, plus $2 to rent skates. (Ice skating next door also costs $5. Guests may pay one $5 fee and roller skate for one hour, then ice skate for another hour. Note that the ice rink is closed for maintenance through July 15.)
