John F. Knighten, 45, of Mead, died Sunday, June 30, 2013.

He had formerly resided in East Wenatchee and was a 1986 graduate of Eastmont High School. He later moved to Mead where he spent 19 years as a Spokane City firefighter.

Survivors include his wife, Shawna Knighten of Mead; his children, Ashley Knighten, Kasey Knighten and Kiley Knighten, also of Mead; his mother, Sarah Knighten of Wenatchee; and his siblings, Judy McCall of Concord, Calif., Robert Knighten of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Chuck Knighten of Winlock, Paul Knighten of Pasco, Mark Knighten, Doug Knighten and Kim Sinclair, all of Wenatchee, Scott Knighten of Battle Ground, Lisa Fairchild of Kennewick, and Eric Knighten and Phil Knighten, both of East Wenatchee.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Spokane Convention Center.

Arrangements are by Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, Spokane.
