...WINTER STORM FOR MUCH OF THE REGION POSSIBLE LATE THIS WEEK... .A LONG PERIOD OF LIGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL ADD UP TO POSSIBLE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OVER A 24 TO 36 HOUR PERIOD. ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BEGIN THURSDAY AFTERNOON IN THE CASCADES AND BEGINNING THURSDAY EVENING OVER THE REST OF THE REGION. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF OVER MOST AREAS BY LATE FRIDAY...SNOW SHOWERS

Opal Geneva (Lewis) Burck, 89, of Moses Lake, and formerly of Ephrata, died Monday, July 1, 2013.

She had resided in Moses Lake for two years and in Ephrata for 40 years. She worked for civil services at the U.S. Bureau of Mines in Albany, Ore., and as a personnel specialist with the Department of the Navy in Bremerton and Kings Bay, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, Lyle Burck of Moses Lake; her children, Lorene Miller of Pasco, Vance Burck of Soap Lake and Bob Burck of Moses Lake; and her brother, Robert Lewis of Wilson Creek.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata, with a graveside service to follow at the Ephrata City Cemetery. There will be a luncheon following the graveside service at the Ephrata Recreational Center.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Nicoles Funeral Home prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata.
