A sudden rainstorm at this year’s Founder’s Day festival in Cashmere Saturday didn’t stop Lily Erdmann, 6, Cashmere, and the rest of the students from Adrienne’s Dance Academy from performing.
Heavy afternoon rains didn’t damper the spirits at the 35th annual event. Hundreds of parade goers lined Cottage Avenue to watch the Crunch Pak Grand Parade.
Although the kids events at Riverside Park were delayed by the rains, the Doane’s Valley Pharmacy Ping Pong Ball Drop went on as scheduled. Hundreds of kids showed up for the popular annual event, when 5,000 ping pong balls are dropped by a helicopter onto the field of children.
The day also included various events downtown and at the Cashmere Museum.
