The Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium is taking on a new look this week as a $50,000 project to install a new backstop system, over two years in the making, is finishing up. On Thursday, a crew from Selland Construction and volunteers hung a 30-foot by 250-foot net on cables supported by new metal poles. Four vertical cables replace about ten poles that used to impair the view of spectators. Wenatchee Valley College and The AppleSox baseball organization are splitting the costs said Sox owner Jim Corcoran. “Individually we probably couldn’t do it,” he said.
