WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee AppleSox couldn’t maintain the momentum they built Saturday, losing to the Medford Rogues 9-3.
The Sox couldn’t take advantage of a quality start from C.J. Burdick, who allowed only one run over seven innings.
Medford scored eight of its nine runs in the last two innings, erasing the 3-0 lead Wenatchee had built.
Wenatchee Valley College lefty Mitch Yada, who had pitched well all season, was charged with the loss as he surrendered five runs.
Andrew Rohrbach, a soon-to-be Gonzaga Bulldog, made a shaky season debut Sunday. He threw for 0.2 innings, giving up three runs.
AppleSox shortstop hit his third home run of the season, but Medford’s Kevin Davidson and Bo Cornish went yard as well.
The Sox will look to salvage the series Monday with Stuart Patke on the hill. The loss puts Wenatchee 0.5 games back from the Walla Walla Sweets - who were idle Sunday - for the lead of the North Division of the West Coast League.
