WENATCHEE — It was one of the most exciting plays of the Wenatchee AppleSox season so far; the only thing that would’ve made it better is if more people knew what had actually happened.
The Sox won 5-4 in walkoff fashion over the Kelowna Falcons on Thursday after Wenatchee center fielder Brock Slavin drove the ball to the deepest part of Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium in the bottom of the 10th inning. It appeared Falcon center fielder Darren Kolk made the catch to end the threat. But Kolk had actually just missed gloving the ball, which had landed at the base of the wall.
