Cashmere will have two new head basketball coaches for the 2013-14 season.
Levi Heyen will take over the Bulldogs’ boys team, and Brent Darnell is the new girls coach, athletic director Scott Brown said.
Heyen is being promoted from his assistant coaching position and will take over for Keith Boyd, who guided the Bulldogs to state tournament appearances in each of the past three seasons.
Darnell resigned two years ago as Eastmont’s head coach after a six-year run as the Wildcats’ head coach. He spent last season as a part-time volunteer coach for the Cashmere girls team.
He takes over for Chris Cloakey, who stepped down after a decade at the helm. Two years ago, Cloakey led the Bulldogs to an undefeated regular season, and last year, he guided an injury-ravaged squad to postseason play.
