Leona C. “Nonie” Thomas, 74, a three-year resident of East Wenatchee and a former 40-year Brewster resident, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

She had lived in Wenatchee from 1964 to 1973 and had worked as a secretary for Chelan County Medical and Colonial Vista. After moving to Brewster in 1973, she worked for Harmony House and later operated a daycare in her home and became a foster care provider.

Survivors include her daughter Lori Thomas of Seattle; her foster daughter, Nina “Sissy” Landin of Everett; and her sister Janis “Jani” Trousdale of Seattle.

A commemoration service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 at the Brewster Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Heritage Memorial Chapel in East Wenatchee.

Arrangements are by Heritage Memorial Chapel.
