Anti-Obama diatribes bend reality
I probably shouldn’t waste my time responding to the letter writer from Twisp, but find it somewhat ironic that The World would choose the Sabbath (specifically July 21) to publish such a false diatribe against Obama, the government and anyone who voted for Obama. This letter writer breaks the commandment “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”
For the bazilianth time, Obama was born in Hawaii on the island of Oahu in the United States. He did live in Indonesia for a short time when he was very young, but returned to Oahu, where he lived most of his informative years with his white grandparents and attended school where most of his schoolmates remember him as a pretty nice fellow, (no mention of him slipping out for midday prayers or facing Mecca when he did pray).
I am not a huge fan of either Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, but to insinuate their marches are a jihad against America is a stretch, and to lump all people in those marches as violence-prone blacks borders on extreme prejudice. By the way, all those successful, educated, hard working, white, black, Jewish, Christian, Buddhists, atheists and Muslim folks who voted for Obama might take offense at being called rioters and looters.
One of the most absurd claims in a litany of such fodder is that Obama takes his marching orders from al Qaida. Like it or not, Obama has been responsible for eliminating more al Qaida members (including Osama Bin Laden) than any other president.
Lastly, the deficit has finally started to come down, not enough and not fast enough, but headed in the right direction. Others will have to discuss the fascination many on the right have with sodomy. We all have to draw the line somewhere.
