Robert William Barker

October 4, 1925 ~ July 23, 2013

In loving memory of Robert W. Barker, a loving, devoted husband and father, who went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2013. He was born in Leduc, Alberta, Canada on October 4, 1925, to William Barker and Stella (Novne) Barker. In his early years, he worked at Bunker Hill Mine in Kellogg, ID. With an exceptional talent for electronics, he became a TV Repairman and eventually owned and operated a Radio and TV Company in Pinehurst, ID. Later, he moved his family to Wenatchee to become the Head Technician for a TV Cable Company until his retirement in 1988.

Robert is survived by his wife, Lula Barker; daughter, Barbara Romppel of Rock Island; son, Greg Barker of Wenatchee; stepson, Dimitri Mandelis of Wenatchee; and stepdaughter, Tula

Mandelis-Voytilla of San Diego; brother, Edgar Barker of Silver, ID; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that he considered as family. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one son.

Robert loved the Lord and his daily life reflected the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Robert will be remembered by all that were blessed to have known him for his gentle nature and genuine kindness. He was an avid animal lover and had a special place in his heart for children. Every dog, cat or child would seek and be found sitting next to Robert, bathed in his attention, love and safety. Robert loved to travel to Greece with his wife, Lula and spend time with family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee, WA 98802. The family wishes for donations to be sent to the Three Hierarchs Orthodox Christian Church, 112 N. Wenatchee Avenue, Wenatchee, WA 98801.
