Staying on top

Gary Cassell, D.V.M., of Countryside Veterinary Clinic recently attended a continuing education meeting of the Montana Veterinary Medical Association in Kalispell. Topics included small animal oncology, techniques in repairing common ligament injuries and the use of the cold laser in the therapeutic treatment of a variety of painful conditions.

Erika Schnell was certified as an OASIS (Outcome and Assessment and Information Set) Specialist during a recent clinic. The OASIS exam is the only nationally standardized, psychometrically validated test that strictly evaluates a clinician’s knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) OASIS guidelines. Schnell is employed at Colonial Vista Care Center in Wenatchee.

Congratulations

Michael Vannier presented Kathleen E. Schmidt with the Ken Weber Attorney of the Year award at the 2013 Washington State Bar Association Family Law Section annual mid-year meeting. Schmidt was recognized for her service on the Family Law Executive Committee (FLEC), which included elected terms for 1997-2002 and 2003-09. She served as newsletter editor two separate times and was the chair of the Executive Committee in 2008-09 and continued her active service on the committee until late 2012.
