WENATCHEE — Saying the Wenatchee AppleSox offense was ineffective Friday in the series-finale against the Bellingham Bells would be an understatement.

The Sox managed only two baserunners before the seventh inning, two players accounted for four of the team’s seven hits and Wenatchee didn’t score until the bottom of the ninth, when it was already too late. The Bells took the game 7-2 and the series 2-1, and pulled back to within 1/2 a game of first-place behind the Sox and the Walla Walla Sweets, who also lost Friday.
