SEATTLE — The Wenatchee Kendama Team had a strong showing at the Battle in Seattle on Saturday — it had more players advance into the later rounds than any other team.
Nick Mayo narrowly lost in the third round. Wenatchee Kendama and Kendama USA Pro Team member Keith Matsumura made it to the final four. Wenatchee Kendama and KROM Kendama Pro Team member Matthew Ballard also made it to the final four and lost to the eventual winner Bonz Atron.
The Battle in Seattle was the final stop for the Kengarden Roots Tour 2013, which made a stop in Wenatchee on Friday.
It was the final stop for Matsumura and Ballard, who have been traveling non-stop since they competed in the Japan World Open Kendama competition. They also made stops in San Francisco, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Calif., Eugene, Ore., and Portland.
