OMAK — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body found on the Colville Indian Reservation near Omak on Saturday.
Discovered at about 1 p.m. near Rodeo Trail Road just outside of Omak, the body was in poor condition, and had undergone moderate decomposition, according to Colville Tribal Police Chief Cory Orr.
Tribal police responded, along with the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol.
Orr said the person has been tentatively identified by a tattoo, but that identity has not been confirmed; authorities are not releasing a name at this time.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, and tribal police continue to investigate, he said.
