FRISCO, Texas — The Wenatchee Wild will face a wide range of fresh competition in the 2013-14 season.
The North American Hockey League announced its divisional alignment for the upcoming season after a busy offseason of expansions and relocations.
Wenatchee will compete against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, the Kenai River Brown Bears of the former NAHL West and new foes the Coulee Region Chill, Minnesota Magicians and Minnesota Wilderness.
The 24-team league is broken into four factions — the Central Division, the North Division, the South Division and the Midwest Division.
The Wild is familiar with Kenai River and Fairbanks; both teams played in the west last season. The Magicians, based out of Richfield, Minn., are an expansion team, the Wilderness are new to the NAHL but played in the Superior International Junior Hockey League last season. The Chill have been in the NAHL since the 2010-11 season.
