EAST WENATCHEEYWCA Wenatchee Valley opens its newest store here today, a boutique-style outlet filled with antiques and higher-end furnishings and decor items.

The new YWCA Store East, 1052 Valley Mall Parkway, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The store’s grand opening is set for Saturday.

The new outlet is the YWCA’s second retail store after Second Beginnings, the nonprofit’s original second-hand store at 231A N. Wenatchee Ave. in Wenatchee. The group also operates a Café AZ’s at 212 First St., Wenatchee.

All three are job-training enterprises to teach skills to clients in the YWCA’s homeless housing program and community-based job programs. The businesses also help keep the YWCA “maintain some economic independence,” said Jenny Pratt, the YWCA’s executive director.

For more info, call the YWCA at 662-3531 or 888-8860.
