It is considered one of its greatest accomplishments. The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust has received a seal of accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Accreditation means the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust meets the highest standards of fiduciary duty and accountability. It rises to scrupulous ethical standards, and its conservation efforts are notably effective, permanent and in the public interest.
The standards for accreditation are far from easy to meet. Only 201 land trusts across the country have qualified. The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust was notified in February of the decision to grant it the right to display the accreditation seal. Now the seal has arrived. The Land Trust qualifies for the highest level of public confidence, and its success if preserving land for future generations will continue to mount. Congratulations.
