WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Wild snapped a seven-game loss streak with a 3-2 win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Friday at Town Toyota Center.
The Wild struck first with an unassisted goal from Gadel Gumerov in the first period. Troy Loggins lit the lamp while shorthanded to put the team ahead 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
Fairbanks’ Doug Rose scored to cut the lead to 2-1, but Nicholas Rivera made it a 3-1 contest late in the second period.
Wenatchee held off a late Ice Dogs rally for the win.
Gustaf Johansson recorded 36 saves on 38 shots in his season debut between the pipes.
