SOAP LAKE — Entiat beat Soap Lake 48-34 on Friday, a win moves the Tigers in a tie for third place in the Central Washington 1B league with Pateros.
“Two out of our first three touchdowns came from two long interceptions,” Entiat coach Brian Bailey said.
Keith Larson returned an interception for a 92-yard touchdown, and Noe Quezada returned one for an 80-yard touchdown, both in the second quarter.
On a read option, third-and-18 play, Entiat quarterback Trang Tran made a 98-yard touchdown run for the last play in the first half, making the halftime score 26-14.
“That was the dagger that put it away,” Bailey said.
Entiat (3-3 CWB) faces Pateros and possibly Almira/Coulee-Hartline in a play-in game on Tuesday.
Pateros 65, Waterville 36
Pateros capped off its regular season with a home win against Waterville.
Mikey Piechalski was 12-for-16 passing for 296 yards with three touchdowns in the first half.
“We came out firing, but so did they,” Pateros coach Marcus Stennes said. “Waterville does a great job running down the field and they ran all over us. Our defense finally stepped up in the second half and forced them to punt, which was huge for us.”
Pateros out scored Waterville 36-14 in the second half.
Prosser 30, Ephrata 23
Cardell Jones hauled in his third touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to break a tie game and lift Prosser to win.
