LaVona Laura (Dexter) Lockridge

October 6, 1926 ~ November 4, 2013

LaVona was born October 6, 1926 in Huntersville, MN. She died November 4, 2013 in Wenatchee at Confluence Hospital. She had a zeal for life and her character and love for others were felt by all. She was treasured by her family, friends, neighbors and all those who knew her.

LaVona was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper “Locky” Lockridge; her son, Gary Younker; her daughter, Teresa Sams; and her two beloved sisters.

The Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday November 8, 2013, at United Methodist Church, 941 Washington Street in Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Gary Younker Foundation. This foundation was initially created in memory of her son. We felt this would best honor her love for those she had lost prematurely. Proceeds go to promote chess, to develop strategic thinking skills. For more information, contact spokanechessclub.org/foundation.htm. Gary Younker Foundation 177 Wildwood Court, Richland, WA 99352.
