WATERVILLE — Douglas County is looking for new members to serve on its weed task force.
The nine-member group meets twice yearly and uses an educational approach to get landowners to control weeds rather than trying to force compliance, said Douglas County Commissioner Dale Snyder. The next meeting will be in April.
Snyder said the county saves money in administrative costs, and believes the volunteer task force is effective in preventing the spread of weeds.
