WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Panthers weren’t jumping for joy after Friday’s lopsided 55-3 win over Sunnyside at Lee Bofto Field at the Apple Bowl.

Head coach Scott Devereaux addressed the team briefly, telling his players to enjoy the win and get ready for a tough week of practice. With the Big Nine title already locked up and Gig Harbor waiting in the opening round of playoffs looming, Wenatchee (8-2 overall, 8-1 Big Nine) didn’t need to win its finale to extend the season.
