MATTAWA — The second of two lease auctions for state lands on the Wahluke Slope will be held Wednesday.

The 160-acre parcel, managed by the state Department of Natural Resources, faces south on the Wahluke Slope and can be irrigated for production of grapes, fruit orchards or row crops, said a DNR press release.

Bidders are asked to propose leases of 10 or 25 years.

Official designation of the auction is Mattawa 31NE Auction of Lease No. 12-A77931.

The auction will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DNR’s Southeast Region Office, 713 Bowers Road, Ellensburg. An auction for a nearby 152-acre parcel was held last week.
