A groundbreaking ceremony for work on the Apple Capital Recreational Loop Trail's Rocky Reach Extension will be held at Lincoln Rock State Park at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Sellend Construction has already begun work on the north one-mile section of the trail. Money for that project come from grants from the state Department of Transportation, Washington State Parks, Chelan County PUD and private contributors. Trail backers are still raising money for the second part of the extension that will tie the trail to the Loop Trail at Wenatchee, said Bob Parlette, a primary proponent of the project. Between $100,000 and $150,000 is still needed, he said.
