Federal lawmakers from NCW urge wolf delisting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Reps. Doc Hastings and Cathy McMorris Rodgers are among 74 congressmen and senators urging the removal of federal protections for the gray wolf.

A Wednesday letter sent to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service — not signed by Rep. Dave Reichert and Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell — is in “strong support” of the agency’s proposal to remove the gray wolf from the list of threatened or endangered species 35 years after it was initially listed under the Endangered Species Act.
